About LBKI

Lion Budokan Karate International started its first Branch in Auckland in May 2013 with a handful of students. Our vision is to promote Karate as an essential sport for people of all ages and fitness levels.

The life skills a student learns while learning self-defence are amazing. Self-discipline, being a great team player, confidence building, improved focus and concentration are to new a few.

Why LBKI?

We are one of the fastest-growing Karate clubs in Auckland. Started in 2013 with a handful of members, we now offer thirteen sessions(karate lessons) per week to members of different age groups and fitness levels across four branches in Auckland.

Our training methods consist of a mix of traditional karate and modern self-defence techniques. We believe Karate is a complete system of life that requires work on body and mind equally. Join us now and become a part of the comprehensive system of Martial Arts training.

What our members say

Great place to learn, my daughter is learning a great skill which I think is necessary in today’s world where you should know about self defense.

Javed Shaikh

I have been to many karate dojos before but this dojo has got to be the best by far. The reason for why I say that is because their number one priority is to help you not only increase your karate skills but also help you improve with your morals and way of life.

Hazem Abughazala

Lion Budokan karate International is leading and one of largest in Auckland region. Renshi Syed's martial arts journey began with Karate in his youth, he is the New Zealand Chief Instructor and Examiner. His mission is to continue training and to enable people of all ages to learn about how to have respect, patience and enables them to develop a disciplined character. Wonderful supportive environment for new learners as well. Strongly recommended !

Kishor Guleria

Best place to learn karate. And cost is very reasonable.

Md. Tanvir Zafor Khan

Awesome club! Great community spirit, multicultural and all ages! The club contributes greatly to the youth by nurturing them via the Dojo, the spirit of Karate teaching self defense and discipline. A reason to engage with people in a safe outdoor environment which is much needed these days!!! Thumbs up really to Renshi Syed, Sempai’s Sebastian & Richard, the engine Hafsa as well as the team at LBKI!!!
